Behind the climate and ecological breakdown lies greed, egotism, and a system emphasizing gain at the expense of others (such as neoliberalism and capitalism). According to such a worldview, those who have much money and power are the "winners", and those who don't are the "losers".

However, the dichotomy between winners and losers is grounded in ignorance. To counter the climate and ecological breakdown, and preserve our very humanity, such a primitive dichotomy should be replaced by a vision that fosters justice, equality, and kindness towards our fellow humans and the living world.
